CNG Introduction:
CNG, also known as compressed natural gas, is an eco-friendly alternative to Petrol or Diesel, made by compressing natural gas (methane) down to less than 1% of its volume. CNG fuel is safer than gasoline and diesel because it is non-toxic and does not contaminate ground water. This natural gas is the same gas that you use daily to heat your home and water, cook on the stove and even to dry your clothes in a dryer. The use of CNG fuel is becoming more popular with both commercial and non-commercial vehicles.
Features:
Greener & Economical - CNG is a more greener and more economical fuel alternative to environment-corrosive and expensive Petrol/ Diesel.
Reduces Noise Pollution - Natural gas vehicles can reduce noise by as much as 50% compared to diesel vehicles.
Reduces harmful emissions - Natural Gas reduces carbon monoxide emissions 90 to 97 percent.
Non Toxic and safe - Natural gas is non-toxic and does not contaminate groundwater.
What is a CNG Kit?
If you prefer to utilise CNG as the fuel type for your car, you can purchase a CNG car or buy a CNG kit, install it in your car, and reduce the fuel cost considerably. Furthermore, we provide you with the best CNG kits brands at affordable rate. It includes a refilling valve, Electric Control Unit, pressure gauge, etc.
Types of CNG Kits:
There are currently two types of CNG kits available in the market and used in most automobiles.
Those CNG kits are namely:
Venturi CNG - The Venturi CNG kit is a mixing unit that delivers an amount of gas into the vehicle’s engine. Venturi kits are a lot more affordable and easier to install in cars when compared to other kits. These kits deliver a fixed amount of gas into the engine’s intake manifold based on the input from the throttle. Venturi CNG kits can be easily installed into any automobile, fuel-injected or carburetor driven. It can also be installed with or without the use of an ECU or Electronic Control Unit.
Sequential CNG - Sequential CNG kits are considered the better option when it comes to automobile installation as they control the gas flow through the injectors fitted alongside the petrol injectors in the manifold. There is also a separate ECU for the CNG kits which electronically control and monitor the amount of gas pushed into the engine. While Sequential CNG kits are the better option, they can only be installed into electronic fuel injection supported vehicles.
Things We Should be Aware of of before we get the CNG Kit installation:
Not all cars are compatible to install a CNG kit:
We should check our car before we go for changing the fuel type to CNG so that it should be compatible enough to be converted into a CNG car. The best way to check your car’s compatibility with the installation of CNG is by contacting the Regional Transport Office (RTO) in your area.
All CNG kits are not genuine:
It is very important to check the authenticity of the CNG Kit, make sure you buy the branded CNG Kit from the authorized dealer only. Chennai CNG is the Authorized Retrofitment Centre for CNG Conversion Kits since 2021. We use the 100% genuine and best brands of CNG kits like Motozen, BRC, Zavoli and the CNG cylinders brands like EKC and Rama.
Using a retrofitted CNG kit in your car requires a license:
When a petrol car is converted to a CNG car, the vehicle owner is required to take permission for its usage from the RTO.
Boot space required for a CNG kit:
The space occupied by a CNG kit on the vehicle’s boot depends on the size of your vehicle’s boot space and cylinder model. A CNG kit occupies at least 1/3rd of your vehicle’s boot space. However, you can install a carrier for convenience to compensate for your lost boot space.
